It's explosive!

Tanner finally decided on a theme of science for his 10th birthday.  We made a cool invitation and he invited his friends. We had safety goggles and lab coats for everyone.  The party started off with the science quiz to see who knew the most. Then we made elephant toothpaste, tried to get wintergreen Lifesavers to spark in the dark (which didn't work), made flubber, did the Diet Coke and Mentos experiment (which I was disappointed in), and finished off with slime cupcakes and present opening.  It was a sure hit!!!

After everyone left I looked further into the Mentos experiment. We tried again and got a little bit higher I think that mostly Sam's choice diet Coke isn't as good as real Diet Coke.  Oh well!

Our little nerd

This year Tanner decided he wanted to do math club. He has had competitions couple of times throughout the year and he's really loved it. Friday night was their big final competition and his school took fourth place overall - they were only three points behind third-place and 48 points above fifth place. He's had such a wonderful time, met some really great friends, and we're proud of him! Plus his math skills have increased enormously!

Cousins are the best!

For Spring Break we didn't really have plans more than just to hang out with family.  When I asked the boys what they wanted to do for fun they were all agreed that they just wanted to spend time with cousins.  So we did!
Sunday everyone came to grandma's for dinner, Monday we had a weinie roast, Tuesday we went to the Manilla pond and played on the beach then had a pizza party at Uncle J's house, Friday we went swimming, decorated eggs, and had a sleepover, Saturday we celebrated Easter, then we went to promontory and played with Mills cousins all afternoon!  We also snuck in a grandpa and boys jazz game, G mountain hike, trip to Cabela's and new hats for everyone,  and movie night!
