Goodbye winter...hello spring
So, this is what we loaded in on Saturday in Sugar City, ID...a blizzard most of the day, lots of snow, and the coldest wind ever.

Happy Easter
Sunday we stopped in Rupert and spent the day with Grandad and Grammy enjoying conference, having is delicious lunch at Aunt Sherma's with the Poteet cousins and Aunt Susan too, and then having an egg hunt with the younger cousins. The Dad's played the Easter bunny, and the kids made a killing. It was very fun to spend time together. Maybe I am feeling sentimental, but it is so fun to do stuff with cousins. Who knows how often these kind of events will happen.
We had to take pictures of the grown-ups too. The men of course have to be "bums" about it...

Saying Goodbye
The worst part of moving is saying goodbye. Packing is no fun, cleaning is miserable, but goodbyes are heart-wrenching. We found a new home for our kitty because we just really didn't think she would be happy in an apartment, or in the moving truck for that long. I feel very comfortable with the family that took her, and I know they will love her. We had Squirrel for 5 years, and she was a part of our family. We will miss her.
Braden has really come to love his friend Maycie. Everytime they get together they have to hug, over and over again.
My sweet friends Jenn and Debbi had a final lunch with me before we left. It was very relaxed and enjoyable. I love these gals and will miss them. I feel very confident when I say that these are friends I will have forever. (The funniest part about this picture is that we had the 4 and 5 year olds taking the pictures. Of two cameras and a dozen pictures, this is the best one....at least we are all in it!) Thanks for all they ways you have helped me become the mom I am, and for teaching me what a true friend is!
We will miss "Stillman" very much. She always spoils the boys and I have loved her as a dear friend. Because of her, I have a very strong testimony of visiting teaching. As partners, I think we caught the vision of what the VTing program is intended to be. We became best friends, and became so close to the gals we visit with that they changed our lives. I only wish Kathy knew just how much she is loved.
Emmie is Colty's girlfriend, and I am not sure how either of them is going to function in primary without eachother. I remember probably 2 or so years ago Colty climbed in bed with Dave and I and said, "Emmie go-fren". They love each other, and hopefully they will find each other at BYU-Idaho in 18 years and will rekindle that love. We can't wait for them to come and visit, which they promised they would do.

Cowboy Party
Tanner really wanted to have a birthday party with his friends before we moved, so we decided that instead of having a birthday party and making Colty feel left out, we had a Cowboy party and made it a goodbye party with our friends. Tan and Colt got new cowboy boots and gun sets that morning,
then we made a cowboy hat cake (although Colty never did agree that it looked like a cowboy hat)
we had our 3 best friends over
and played "Horse Horse Cow", had target practice and shot guns,
We did a craft activity making horses out of our footprints
And everyone got to blow the candles out on the cake TWICE (just to be sure everyone got to blow some out) and enjoyed some chocolate cake.
Even little cowboys like chocolate cake.
We will miss our very favorite friends.

Slight Obsession
So, I am addicted to Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman. Our library has the complete series, and I am on season 4. I love Sully, think Matthew is so cute, and have always wished I were Dr. Quinn.
My boys even watch it with me and follow along with the story lines. When they are playing so well in the other room, I will slip it and before I know it they are both sitting next to me to watch "Dr. Mike." We got tomahawks from DI for each of them and we are set. It is really fun. My only fear is that the Hermiston library won't have it. There is no way I will finish the series before I move. I have been watching them on Ebay, but no luck at winning one yet. (Don't tell Dave, he thinks I am crazy.) So, now you know what I do when I have a spare minute, and late into the night.

Living 600 miles apart!
Last week Dave and I spent time together in Kennewick, Washington. We drove on Sunday, and it wasn't too bad. (Kennewick is 6 hours from Twin Falls and 8 hours from Tremonton.) We spent time looking for homes, areas to live in, getting Dave set up in an apartment, and getting oriented to our new homeland. We had a nice time together, and the boys had fun at Grandmas. Right now Dave is there working, (lots of hours I hope) and I am home with the boys praying our house will sell. The plan today is that me and the boys will move the first week in April. Families are meant to be together! The boys miss their Daddy so much. Colty says all the time "I very miss my daddy" and he prays that "Daddy will fly home safely" almost every night. It breaks my heart to tell him that Daddy isn't coming home. Tanner told me last night that he decided that he would rather live with Daddy at his 'compartment' than stay here with his friends. Braden loves to talk to Daddy on the phone and puts the phone to his ear every chance he gets.
Dave's 'compartment'. He is on the top floor. It's sure nothing special, but it is cheap and they do month to month lease instead of 6 month contract. It is a 2 bedroom, so we will all fit, but it will be snug!
The Columbia River Temple in Kennewick. It kind of looks like a layer got cut out of the middle. Makes Moroni look really tall!
The Tri-cities (Richland, Kennewick, and Pasco) are connected by bridges. This is one of them.
There are lots of parks, and especially along the Columbia River there is a huge park with the playground of dreams. It is huge, and has a splash park too.
These are pictures of the Columbia River. You can see the boat parking in the first picture. The end of July they do boat races here, and I guess it is a BIG deal. It will be fun to see. This airplane looking thing is a race boat.
Kennewick really seems like huge to me. (I think I feel like a country bumpkin!) There is a "small dumpy town" just on the Oregon side which is about 10 minutes from Dave's farm, and about 25 minutes from Kennewick called Hermiston. Anyone you talk to in Kennewick will tell you it is a "one horse town" and "really small." I decided I wanted to check it out. So, I found a realtor and looked around. I LOVED IT!! There is like 16,000 people in this "little" town and they have a Walmart and Home Depot and more restaurants that Rexburg including a Denny's and a Stockman's, as well as 2 grocery stores, a Maurices, their own hospital, swimming pool, and library. What else could a person want?!?! Dave was a little turned off because property tax is quite high, but I think it would be worth it to live in a cozier town. And, they don't have sales tax in Oregon. We'll see what happens. So far we can't do ANYTHING until we sell our house. Pray for us.....please!
