Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend we decided to spend doing family stuff.

On Saturday afternoon we went to the "sand mountains" as the boys called them. I don't know why we have lived here for our whole marriage and not taken the boys out there. We had a great time. I think we will try to make it a more frequent event. The boys loved jumping and climbing back up, getting buried in the sand, making sand angels, sliding down the hill, etc. What a fun time we had. The only bummer was sand in the eyes. No fun there!

Then Sunday night we decided to go to Island Park and spend the night at the cabin. We invited some friends to join us, and it was so fun. We love being at the cabin...such a relaxing place. That afternoon we went to Big Springs and then found a little spot to have our picnic lunch. It wasn't a very warm weekend, but we lucked out finding a nice little spot to take some pics without the wind bothering us too much.

where'd it go?

Summer's over...where did it go? Here are some pics of the last month or so and the fun we have had. I keep saying that one of these days things will slow down, but we haven't seen it yet.

The first of August started with Girls Camp. Tanner & Colty went on vacation to grandma's house, and Braden and I went to camp. We had a great time, except for the allergies that hit Brady hard the first night. But the girls loved having the baby around, and we lived it up in a camp trailer.

Then I came home and got right to work canning. I was doing so well, picking beans from my garden and getting them all bottled and processed. Then, on my last picked batch for the week, I was talking on the phone when my buzzer went off, ran outside to turn off the cache cooker, and came back in. A few hours later I went outside to find that somehow I hadn't turned the propane off all the way, and my canner had exploded. What a sad day!The rest of the month we spent chasing Braden, as the week he turned 6 months he started to crawl. He got it all figured out, and now can keep up with his brothers. It is really cute, as he doesn't crawl on his knees, he does it up on his feet. He's a little stink bug! He can now also pull himself up to everything. He is such a busy body. I love this stage.

The end of August I had a HUGE sales convention in SLC that I helped organize. Dave and I got to stay at the Grand America with Braden, and Tanner and Colton went to Grandma's on vacation again. It was a very busy week, I put in 62 hours that week. But we had a nice time and the boys had a fun time in the big tub before we left. That is one fancy hotel!

Saturday after leaving the hotel we went to the Box Elder County Fair. The boys thought it was fun to ride the rides, pet the animals, and see Grandpa and Grandma Mills, as well as our Mills cousins. We enjoyed the rodeo that night too, and the clown handed Tanner a little football that he won't let out of his sight.
