Halloween Theme Night

We had ourselves a Halloween party, just us, on Saturday.  We started the evening off with a ghoulish dinner of mummy pizza, boo banana ghosts, and snaggletooth monster apple mouths.

We made super slime (equal parts water and cornstarch, and a bit of paint for color).  This stuff was incredible.  If it was on the counter it was a solid, but if you held it up it oozed.  It was really easy to clean up, and so fun to play in.  Dave might have liked it better than the boys.  Thanks to Sid the Science Kid pbs show for this one!

SPLAT!!  The boys had a great time perfecting their spider splatting skills.

And we finished it off with making and decorating sugar cookies.  Yummy!
Today we carved our pumpkins. Tanner had designed multiple faces for us to choose from.  Then Daddy helped cut the tops off and everyone dug in....well, everyone but Colt.  He is not a fan of the pumpkin guts.  Such a texture guy. So he was photographer.
 Then to cut the faces...

Tanner's pumkin of "frankenstein" was pretty cool, with real bolts and everything!

Lucky Me!

Dave and I celebrate our 10 year anniversary in January.  We have been planning on going on a nice trip sometime to celebrate it.  Well, the opportunity presented itself when we were able to buy tickets to Hawaii for $300 round trip!!!!  We are so excited!  In February we will go to Oahu with 2 other couples that are our dear friends.

In honor of the celebration, I got a new hair style.  I LOVE IT!!

Tumble Time

The boys had such a fun time doing Tumble Time through the city.  They have really improved and it has been fun to watch.

Braden was the only one in his class that could do a "real" cartwheel.

Colt and Tanner did bear crawls and crab walks for warm-up.

 Cartwheels and learning round-offs

Miss Linda was their teacher.  She did such a fantastic job.  She is a great teacher and definately loves what she does.  I always love it when I get my money's worth out of a program we sign up for!

Old Man

Dave turned 34, and the best birthday present EVER was that they finished potato harvest on his birthday.

To celebrate, we had friends over for Aunt Carol's delicious tacos, the presidential debate, a Mr. Potatohead Peanutbutter filled cake (yes I am that amazing) complete with a mini bonfire of candles, and gifts, complete with a scavenger hunt to find one of them.

Happy Birthday to the world's best Daddy and husband!!

A new food

Sabree is old enough to eat rice cereal.  The first try wasn't so, good, but mostly because she was already mad about life.

The second try went much better.  And since then she has been pretty good abut eating.  She has been much easier to feed than the boys ever were.

Pick a pumpkin

Braden's preschool went to the Country Merchantile Pumpkin Patch.  Daddy took time off from harvest to join us.  We took a hayride to pick a pumpkin.

Then the kids got to climb the straw pyramid and do a straw maze, then see the animals at the petting zoo.
We finished up with cookies and juice.
And a final group picture.  We had our little preschool and 2 other mom preschools from the ward.  Fun time!!

A pretty girl

Sabree was so pretty today.  We just had to take lots of pics of this sweet little girl (when she is being sweet).

She is so cute with this little tongue that pokes out.  Last night Daddy thought that maybe she was doing it to taste his pizza.

We don't see our Dad very much right now, because Harvest takes him away for long 14+ hour days.  But, on the upside, Dave's fields are currently #1 for highest yield!!  Way to go, Daddy-o!

Buddy Walk

A sweet family in our ward has a little girl with Down's Syndrome.  They were putting a team together for the annual Buddy Walk which is a fundraiser for the Down Syndrome Foundation.  We were excited to join the A team.  (A is for Aidan, the little girl)

What a fun time we had.  We did a mile walk (or mosey) and got a T-shirt, had lunch, and then won a big Halloween basket in the raffle.  Braden kept saying, "The buddy walk is so fun!"
